Appointments and availability
Local Counselling provides individual and couples counselling in person at Kingsway House and online where stated in the selected service.
Free 15-minute online consultations with Jonathan are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, subject to availability. These consultations do not require payment.
Individual counselling appointments last 50 minutes and cost £50. A limited reduced rate of £40 may be available by prior agreement. Couples counselling appointments last either 50 minutes and cost £80, or 90 minutes and cost £100.
Booking and payment
Please check that the selected service, counsellor, attendance method, date and time are correct before completing your booking.
Paid appointments require full payment through Stripe at the time of booking. Your appointment is confirmed only when payment has been completed successfully and a booking confirmation has been issued.
If payment is not completed within the time allowed by the booking system, the provisional appointment time may be released for someone else to book.
Cancellation and rescheduling
Local Counselling operates a 48-hour cancellation and rescheduling policy. Please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or change an appointment.
If you cancel or ask to reschedule with less than 48 hours’ notice, or do not attend, you may still be charged for the appointment. Extenuating circumstances will be considered fairly.
You may use the cancellation or rescheduling options included with your booking, or contact us if you need help.
Attending online
Online appointments take place securely on Zoom. You are welcome to use video or keep your camera switched off and join using audio only. Please choose a private place where you feel able to speak freely and make sure you have a suitable device and internet connection.
Your Zoom joining link will be included in your booking confirmation. For a paid appointment, the confirmation and joining link are issued after payment has been completed successfully.
If a technical problem prevents the appointment from going ahead, please contact your counsellor as soon as possible so that the circumstances can be considered.
Attending in person
In-person appointments take place at Local Counselling, Kingsway House, Caldwell Road, Widnes, WA8 7GD.
If you are driving, press the buzzer at the barrier and say that you have a session with Local Counselling. Reception will buzz you through and raise the barrier. Park onsite; accessible parking spaces are available near the reception entrance.
If you are walking, go straight to reception. Please sign in when you arrive and your counsellor will collect you at the start of your session.
Confidentiality and personal information
Information you provide when booking is handled in accordance with our privacy policy. Please do not enter detailed clinical or highly sensitive information into the booking form.
These booking terms cover appointment administration. The counselling relationship, including its confidentiality and professional boundaries, will also be discussed with your counsellor.
Emergency support
Local Counselling is not an emergency or crisis service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999 or go to A&E.
